Silver Service Club for the over 55s

The Silver Service Club is provided by the local branch of The Salvation Army for those over 55 years old who live nearby.

​

The club has been running since 1976. today, there are close on 160 members!

​

The club offers a weekly meeting (Bank Holidays excepted) starting at 2.00pm and finishing at approximately 3.20pm.

Lively entertainment is provided by mostly professional artists.

​

A short time of reflection when we think of members who are poorly or in hospital. A short Christian based thought is offered with prayer (The Salvation Army is a Christian Church).

​

Birthdays are remembered with a card and small present.

1. An average of 47 club meetings per year

2. six fresh eggs at Easter

3. Organised days out to places of interest, including theatre trips

4. Mid-year party, where we dress up for the occasion!

5. We organise Holidays

6. We try to take a personal interest in you

7. We have a lovely Christmas Dinner

8. Your birthday is acknowledged with a card and present

9. We try to do everything nicely!
